New Dolphin species*****

*On November 21st a new type of dolphin was found by DNA on the coast of Australia. Scientist thing that because dolphins emerged only between 5 and 2 million years ago many of the species along the Australian coast are undiscovered species. Most of these species look the same, because evolution hasn't gotten a chance to take charge because they emerged only between 5 million and 2 million years ago. Hey It's *Raina*

If you speak English you probably don't know what this means. In Beijing this means no fur coats. A Beijing animal legend is being taken away. Fur coats are being made. They slaughter the animal (meaning take all of the skin off). Not only do they do that, but one rare fox doesn't make a full fur coat. A full coat takes about 3 fox. Fox aren't the only animals being skinned and slaughter. Rare white chinchilla's are being made into fur coats and yarn. The worst part about both of these animals being killed for fur,
1. They are rare animals
2.They leave the rest of the animals meat just lying on the ground for flies to eat.
3.We need to protest
I'm not saying we can't have fur coats, because they are beautiful and warm, but we can't be waisting them, and making too much. People are taking over the world. It was the animals world before, and it should still be theirs now. And in the future once people are gone it will probably belong to them then.
The point is I am not going to buy any coats with real fur for a long time, until I am convinced that they aren't making too much and hurting the animals. If you want to see a picture of what's left of an animal after it's skinned Google real fur coats and click on images.

A NEW CONTEST

Haatw has a new contest. It's a picture contest. You can either use adobe photo shop on your computer and send it to us, or you caan draw it on a sheet of paper take a picture and then e-mail it. The winner of the contest gets to have their picture on the magazine. With thier name under. The picture has to be a picture of a part of nature or an animal. The picture can be in any design. To enter the contest you must become a member. To be a member, you must send at least five comments. See you later bye!

ALMOST A TRIPLE CROWN!! but no

Big Brown almost made a world record that hasn't been done for 30 years. Have you heard of Da' Tara? I hadn't but now hes the champ. Da' Tara beat a race that no one thought he could. But he sure showed them wrong. A triple crown, is when a horse races three times in five weeks. And also win the Kentucky Durby. The last horse to win the triple crown was named Affirmed. Affirmed ran in the year 1978. Some people believe that Big Brown was kicked by Da' Tara and injured. But I just believe that Big Brown wasn't running fast enough he was holding himself back. He's a fast horse but he just didn't want to show it. You could tell he was confident though. The first horse to win the triple crown was Sir Barton in 1919, then came Gallant Fox in 1930, then there was Omaha in 1935, War Admiral in 1937, Whirlaway in 1941, Count Fleet in 1943, and then theres was my favorite Assault in 1946, and we can't forget about Citation in 1948, and another brilliant horse Secretariat in 1973, Seattle Slew in 1977, and the last horse to win the triple crown was like we said Affirmed in 1978. The black horse to the left is Da'Tara the brown one is Big Brown.

Polar Bears

Did you know that the Polar Bear is the largest carnivore in the world. It's native land is the Arctic. It's main food is seal. An adult male weighs about 300-600 pounds. A female weighs about half that size. Polar Bears are dying of extinction. They are dying out because of the melting ice. Although they can swim, they are better on land than water. They can only swim about one mile which isn't a lot compared to their usual. Polar Bears are awsome! Check out the picture to the left.

Arbor Day!

Hey it's Arbor Day, to celebrate I made bird feeders, and planted a couple of trees around my house. I think its fun to plant. I hope you guys found a way to celebrate. It may not be a BIG holiday, but it's still cool.

The Wolf Pack Of Sunny Boy By Raina Henderson

One day a little boy was walking in the woods, when he came to a dead end. In the middle of the dead end was a sign that said,’’ Be ware of the Moun’a: n The sign was unfinished and looked like it had been ripped off. He couldn’t tell what the sign said, but later, he found himself on his back looking into the eyes of Jennifer and Markese, a married couple. The boy found himself with a cold compress on his knee from the fall. The couple asked the boy his name and he responded,’’ My name is Richard. Where am I?’’ He looked at the tall rainforest trees above him.’’ He had wandered too far and was not near home at all. He noticed that his apparel was ripped and torn. He felt very scared and besieged, and he denounced himself for his fall. He then remembered what had happened. He slipped off the tip of a mountain.
“So that’s what the sign said,’’ he murmured to himself. He later found out that Jennifer and Markese’s rainforest home was just like a regular town. The day after Richard had fallen, Jennifer and Markese made a deal with Richard that every day they would find out one thing about him.
One day he was feeling homesick and dispatched a letter home saying that he was safe and missed all of his family very much. Richard got a job as a Veterinarian for monkeys in the rainforest. When he came back the whole town was in flames. Richard didn’t know what to do so he got the big safety kit from the house closest to the middle of the town and quickly doused out the fire. By the time he got in to see Jennifer and Markese it was too late. Richard cried he hadn’t even gotten to say good-bye and thanks. After about three days, the young boys who were left were famished, and set out on a journey to find food for everyone.
On the way to their destination Richard and his friend Robert found a little wolf pup in the corner of a cave where the boys stopped to rest. It looked like the pup’s mother had forsaken the little puppy. Richard felt bad for the wolf pup, and could relate to what he was feeling. Richard hadn’t seen his parents in years now. The thought of it brought tears to his eyes. He though the pup might be gainfully used as a hunter. It would be an advantage for the group and Richard. In the summer of 1998, the wolf was already immense, with huge teeth, but still very cute. The wolf was inept when it came to hunting. For wolves, hunting is very important when they aren’t in captivity. After training the wolf, he became an ingenious hunter.
One late night in October, Richard heard a loud wolf cry from the other side of the small town. He went outside, scared at first, but knowing that his wolf was there made him feel safe. Richard looked up and saw a big pack of wolves with yellow glowing eyes staring at him. Usually the wolf would attack but this time he didn’t. The Wolf went over to the wolf pack and then looked at Richard as if to say, “This is where I belong.” Richard was heart broken when he called the wolf’s name and he didn’t respond. He new it was what was right for the wolf. He picked up a collar that he was working on for the wolf, placed it around his neck and said, “This is yours, I will always love you. Good-bye.” Instantaneously the wolf that Richard had called Sunny and the rest of the pack was gone.
All the boys in the rainforest town irked Richard because they were making fun of him because of his sorrow. Every night he had flashbacks of when he found the pup over a year ago. Because Sunny was no longer there he felt misgivings. People though he was an oaf now that he was alone. He hunted for his own repasts Now that Sunny wasn’t there, his life was tough.
Thirteen years later when Richard had a wife and his own family living in his home town away from the rainforest, he saw a familiar face walking in the woods. He looked at the collar around it’s neck and new that it was Sunny. He had finally been able to see Sunny again. Sunny’s pack let him go because of his lousy skills. Most of the time he was good, but not good enough. And together Sunny and Richard lived happily together with their families forever.

Hamsters

Did you know hamsters are te third most comman pets after the reptiles? Hamsters originated from the mountains of Sothern America. Although hamsters have two eyes, each eye blinks once back and fourth. It's almost like a person winking on the left eye, and than right eye. Hamsters see in black and white like dogs. I have a hamster. Hamsters really do make great pets!

Emus

Do you like big birds like Ostriches? If you doyou'd love emu's they are smaller than Ostriches but have the same qualities, and body structure. Emu's are found in Austrailia and rarely Africa. The emu's name emu is latin for fast-foot. Emu's are very much like Cassowories. Emu's have three toes arranged for running. The Ostrich has only two toes. The less toes you have the faster you are. The largest an emu can reach up to is 6ft. 7 in., the Ostrich's largest is about 3 ft. more than the emu. Emu's are not meat eating animals. They only eat plants. They eat different plants according to the seasonal changes.Mater accurs in May or June and they reproduce in the winter between December and January. The eggs can way up to 900 grams. The female lays an average of 11 eggs. The myth of that the sun was made by throwing an emu's egg into the sky. The emu is one of the national birds of Austrailia. Emu's are really interesting!

Clown Fish

Clown fish are most comman in the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Great Barrier Reef.Clown Fish live in corals only when anemone is not available, other wise they live in anemone. Did you know that anemone sting, so only the Clown Fish and the damselfish are able to go in without being stung. These fish are very important to the Ocean because anemone wuld have killed off all fo the other species by its' sting. But these fish can servive it.
